Columbus, MN – The Tuesday night (Sept. 12) harness racing program at Running Aces featured the $17,600 Open Handicap pace with a talented field of seven going into battle.

Mac’s Marvel (Brady Jenson) was sent off as the clear favorite at 6-5 on the board while American Dreamer (Todd Warren) was the public’s second pick at 7-2. Super Mac (Dean Magee) was fastest off the car from the inside draw and led early while Caliber (Luke Plano) challenged and American Dreamer also pursued the front. Caliber worked past Super Mac just past the :27.4 quarter but American Dreamer immediately took over and was settled on top at the :56.1 half mile checkpoint.

The action remained hot as Driver Kevin Wallis activated No Lou Zing (Sweet Lou) from fourth with a sharp move down the backside, taking the lead as they made the bend onto the far turn while PD The Big Easy, Topville Rocknluck and Mac’s Marvel all chased cover and the three-quarters flashed up in 1:24.
