The world champion harness racing trotting mare Atlanta (Chapter Seven) T, 6, 1:49.0M $3,223,357 has been sold again among the three partners that have been involved with her since her two-year-old season.
It was confirmed to Harnesslink by partner Howard Taylor that an outside interest had made an offer to buy Atlanta and that started things off.
āWe had an offer to buy Atlanta and her foal by Muscle Hill from another outside source,ā Taylor said.
Atlanta was owned by Crawford Farms Racing (Albert and Michelle Crawford), Brad Grant and Howard Taylor. She was first sold to separate the partnership with trainer Rick Zeron in 2019 for $1.55 million.
āThe offer from the outside source was too good for Brad (Grant) and I to turn down,ā Taylor added. āThen Michelle and Al came back and said they did not want to sell her share and would meet the offer and buy the mare and her foal outright.
āI feel that this is the best outcome,ā Taylor explained. āThe sale will not take place until the end of her racing season this year. This will be her last season of racing.ā
Due to being a private deal between the ownership group, Taylor said they could not disclose the purchase price nor who the outside bidder was.
