Monticello, NY— Monticello Raceway cancelled harness racing on Tuesday (Jan. 9) after Atlantis (Well Said, Gregory Merton) won the $5,900 pace in race three. The races were cancelled due to the inclement weather.
Shoreview (Michael Merton) took the early lead on the snowy track. Hestons Lucky Chip (Bruce Aldrich Jr) followed in second and Send It In Jerome (Jim Taggart Jr) was racing in third. They came to the quarter mile in :30.3.
Shoreview was holding on to the lead as they came by the stands for the first time. From the outside, Atlantis rushed to the front to steal the lead as they passed the half mile in 1:01.3 but didn’t keep it for long. Shoreview fought for the front, leaving Atlantis in second and Hestons Lucky Chip in third as they reached the three-quarter mile in 1:30.3.
Coming down the stretch, Shoreview and Atlantis were head-to-head. Atlantis inched his way across the wire first to capture the victory in 2:00.1. Shoreview came in second and Hestons Lucky Chip finished in third.

Atlantis is an 8-year-old gelding owned and trained by Andrew Adamczyk. He paid $4.40 to win.
