Discus Hanover went straight to front and led to the first quarter in :27.3.  He put the field asleep with a :31.0 second quarter and was first to the half in :58.3.  He cruised to three-quarters in 1:27.4.

As they reached the stretch Star Track Hanover (Steeven Genois) came all out to challenge as Lepanto (Barton Dalious) used a late brush but neither could get close to Discus Hanover, who won easily in 1:55.4.  Star Track Hanover held on to finish second.  Lepanto was third best.

DISCUS HANOVER REPLAY

Discus Hanover is a 5-year-old gelding.  He is owned by Phillip Hale and trainer David Dewhurst.  It was his third win this season; he paid $5.  He now has 31 lifetime victories.

Bailey got his other wins with Summer Storm (Prayer I Am, $11.40), Shrimp And Grits (Shadow Play, $2.90), and Havana Ooh Nana (Guccio, $7.00).  Affrunti finished first with Let’sflytogether N (Art Major, $4.00), Passport To Art (Art Major, $6.00), Thomas P Two (Angus Hall, $3.60), and Wallet (Walner, $2.60).

Live racing returns to Vernon Downs on Friday (August 19) with a post time of 6:05 p.m.
