Harness racing drivers Leon Bailey and Frank Affrunti put on a show driving four winners each at Vernon downs on Saturday night (August 13).
Bailey won the $9,200 Open Trot with Discus Hanover (Credit Winner).
Discus Hanover went straightĀ to front and led to the first quarter in :27.3.Ā He put the field asleep with a :31.0 second quarter and was first to the half in :58.3.Ā He cruised to three-quarters in 1:27.4.
As they reached the stretch Star Track Hanover (Steeven Genois) came all out to challenge as Lepanto (Barton Dalious) used a late brush but neither could get close to Discus Hanover, who won easily in 1:55.4.Ā Star Track Hanover held on to finish second.Ā Lepanto was third best.

Discus Hanover is a 5-year-old gelding.Ā He is owned by Phillip Hale and trainer David Dewhurst.Ā It was his third win this season; he paid $5.Ā He now has 31 lifetime victories.
Bailey got his other wins with Summer Storm (Prayer I Am, $11.40), Shrimp And Grits (Shadow Play, $2.90), and Havana Ooh Nana (Guccio, $7.00).Ā Affrunti finished first with Let’sflytogether N (Art Major, $4.00), Passport To Art (Art Major, $6.00), Thomas P Two (Angus Hall, $3.60), and Wallet (Walner, $2.60).
