Bangor, Maine … The renowned state-of-Maine foliage has been unusually late in its arrival this season but one thing that remains precisely on schedule is the start of the fall harness race meet at Bangor Raceway’s historic Bass Park oval.
Racing resumes at BangorĀ on Wednesday (October 11)Ā with an eleven-race card slated to get underwayĀ at 3:00 p.m. (EDT)and will be conducted on a three day per week schedule through the first week in November. Post time will beĀ at 3:00 p.m. On SundayĀ and Wednesday with theĀ Saturday nightĀ cards raced under the lights beginningĀ at 6:00 p.m.
Bangor Raceway is proud to have once again been chosen to host the prestigious Maine Sire Stakes three-year-old finals this year. Racing for purses in excess of $250,000, all four Pinetree State sophomore champions will be crowned during a festive session heldĀ on Saturday (October 14)Ā with post timeĀ at 6:00 p.m.
Bangor’s deep driving colony will once again be anchored by renowned veterans such as Walter Case, Jr (11,320 career wins), Bruce Ranger (10,200 career wins) and David Ingraham (7838 career wins). This accomplished trio will be put to the test though by a gang of established and rising stars including Heath and Drew Campbell, Kevin Switzer, Jr, Ron Cushing, Dan Deslandes, Nick Graffam, and Aaron Hall.
