Bangor, Maine …. Bangor Raceway embarks upon the autumn portion of its 2024 schedule with the Fall Frolic meet commencing on Saturday (October 12). Saturday’s card will feature a special 1:30 p.m. (EDT) post time when Bangor plays host to the three-year-old finals of the Maine Sire Stakes harness racing program with a star-studded, 13-race-program carded to welcome the faithful back to historic Bass Park.
Purses for Saturday’s program will total $422,766. That combined with Maine’s accomplished driving colony being in full attendance, and further coupled with full fields throughout the card, valuable wagering opportunities should be the order of the day at Bangor Raceway.
“We’re grateful for the response at the entry box” said race secretary, Jean Thayer, “With nearly 300 horses entered for the weekend, we were able to put together very competitive 13-race-programs for both Saturday and Sunday. And with Maine’s fall fairground circuit concluding a successful season, we anticipate the interest remaining strong throughout the meet here at Bangor. We look forward to offering strong wagering programs throughout the fall.”
With the exception of Saturday’s opening day card, Bangor Raceway will race on Saturday and Sunday mornings with a bright and early 11:00 a.m. post time and on Wednesday afternoons starting at 3:00 p.m. This three-day-a-week schedule remains in place through October 30 with the Fall Frolic meet concluding on Wednesday (November 6).
