FOWLERVILLE, Mich. — Oldford Racing and Allen Sisco Stable’s Believeincaptain (Captain Victorious) extended his undefeated harness racing record to nine wins in as many starts with a track-record performance in his $15,300 Michigan Colt Stakes Blue Division event for 2-year-old male pacers on Thursday (Sept. 4) at the Fowlerville, Mich., fairgrounds.

After getting away fourth behind a :28.3 opening quarter controlled by Allamerican Beach, Believeincaptain and driver Kody Massey brushed forward aggressively on the far turn and seized control from Allamerican Beach at the end of a :59 half before opening up steadily on the backstretch. The son of Captain Victorious-Believeincarrie drilled a :28 third quarter and maintained 3-1/2 lengths of clearance over Allamerican Beach to win in 1:57.1, lowering both his lifetime mark and the divisional track record he set on July 21 by one-fifth of a second.

Chip Of The South and driver Rick Dobson took the short road to a 2:00.1 track-record performance in the $15,250 3-year-old male trot, defeating New Plan Stan by four lengths and shaving over a second off his lifetime mark. Monica Krist trains the Bourbon Chip-Belle Of The South gelding, who has now won 10 times in his career, for Dobson, Teresa Marotta and Melissa Kesler.

Taylor Dawn also kept her seasonal undefeated record intact, scoring her seventh win in as many starts in her sophomore season by way of a five-length, 2:00.4 win over Spagz One in the $15,250 3-year-old filly pace. Brad Kramer drove the Bondi Hanover-I’ll Deal A Queen filly, who exceeded $100,000 in lifetime earnings with her 10th career win, for trainer Paul Cloer Jr. and owner Gregory Gardner.

Kramer was the only driver to record a double, also posting a 2:00 win with Kelly Goodwin’s Hard Of A King in the $15,350 3-year-old male pace.

The Michigan fair harness racing circuit moves to Allegan, Mich., for a two-day stand on Monday (Sept. 8) and Tuesday (Sept. 9).
