Benjamin Hanover (Sebastian K) captured the Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night.
Benjamin Hanover had to overcome not only nineteen degree temperatures but six quality trotters enroute to his 4th consecutive harness racing win.
Chapheart left alertly from the middle of the race track and parked the 2/5 betting favorite Benjamin Hanover through the opening quarter in 28. Benjamin Hanover trotted on to an uncontested lead reaching the half in 56.4 (28.4). Rivers braved the Arctic temperatures and raced 1st over down the backstretch runway. Inaminute Hanover grabbed live cover 2nd over. Resolve To Win chased 3rd over on an outside grind. Chapheart followed the action from the pocket.
Benjamin Hanover continued on a confident strut and reached the three quarters in 1:25.4 (29). He then drew off in the stretch to win by a length and three quarters in 1:53.3. The final quarter was trotted in 27.4. He paid $2.80 for his efforts.
