DOVER, Del. — A week ago, Better And Bold drew the rail en route to a harness racing victory in the $20,000-$25,000 4&5-Year-Old Claiming Handicap pace. This week the four-year-old again leaves from post 1 in the Tuesday Feb. 17 feature race at Dover Downs. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
Driver Eddie Davis Jr. did not get away at the start, but rallied late to take the lead at the top of the lane on the way to a neck victory for owners Tim Tetrick and CC Racing. From the outside, ultra-consistent Just Bettor, owned by Ken Wood, Bill Ditmar and Steve Iaquinta, driven by Vic Kirby, has had several successes starting from post 8. Reg Hazzard and Legacy Racing's UF Dragons Cruiser, finished third, beaten only a half-length, with Allan Davis in the bike.
Wade Wyatt's Swift As A Shadow closed from far back for Jonathan Roberts to miss by two-and-a-half lengths. Corey Callahan will drive Harvey Eisman's Touchdown Mindale, who should profit by an inside post. After a win last time, King Royalty, missed a week, and returns for Jim Morand driving for Ed Maas, Arlene Paisley and Nanticoke Racing. The other contestants are Jim Jacobs' Button Fly, handled by Jason Lynch and Wayne King's LA Camcharger piloted by Tony Morgan.
Monday through Thursday racing starts at 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday are "dark days.' Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m.
