Bettors Donttell (Brad Irvine) captures the featured $8,500 Open Pace at Vernon Downs on Saturday (July 26).

Bluesville (Ron Harp) was first to the quarter in a very fast :25.3. He slowed things down with a :30.0 second quarter as he led to the half in :55.3. Syracuse Express (Chris Long) came first-up heading around the final turn and was first to three-quarters in 1:23.2.
As they reached the stretch Bettors Donttell ($5.80) blew right on by to win in 1:51.1. Major Leaguer (Jimmy Whittemore came on late to finish second. Capt Jack Hanover (John MacDonald) was third.
Bettors Donttell is a 7-year-old gelding by Bettor’s Delight. He is owned by Gerald Longo and trained by Laura Shock. It was his fourth win this season. He now has 24 career victories.

Jimmy Whittemore had a driving grand slam. He got his wins with Dude With Tude, and was also trainer for Jolly Harbor, Mask On Mask Off, and O’er The Ramparts.
