Freehold, NJ — Freehold Raceway’s leading harness racing driver over the last two years, Austin Siegelman, had his first big day in the bike on Thursday (January 13), with five winners on the 9-race card.
Siegelman started his day on a winning note, scoring in race 1 on Burning Desire, trained by Kubi Erzene. He got back-to-back wins in races 3 and 4, driving Goinroundncircles to victory for owner/trainer Tom Lail, as well as Justa Camilion for trainer Brandon Mongiello.
Siegelman completed the grand slam in race 8, as he guided Princess Holly N to the win for owner/trainer Mike Fiumenero. He capped off his big day in race 9, as favored Takeittotheface came up to the inside to win for trainer Symon Spicer.
After a 3-for-27 start to the 2022 season, Siegelman has moved back into first place in the standings, with eight victories.
Jacob Cutting also had a big day, with three driving wins. Two of them, Pedigree Blue Chip in race 5 and Paloma Ruiz in race 6, were on horses he trained. He also drove Red Dirt Boomer to victory in race 2 for owner/trainer Mike Polhemus.
Live racing continues at Freehold on Friday (January 14), starting at 12:30 PM. There will be a carryover in the 50-cent pick 5, starting in race 5, worth $467.41.
