Hall of Fame harness racing driver David Miller knows how to celebrate a birthday – winning the first three races and added an additional one late on the Wednesday night (Dec. 10) card at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway.

Burning Sole

The 61-year-old reinsman, who recently moved back to the Buckeye State from the east coast, got the night started with an off-the pace-effort behind Burning Sole in 1:57.1.

He completed the early Daily Double with a first over move with Abby D in 1:56.3.

At the start of the third race, a $15,000 conditioned trot, Illegally Funded (Kayne Kauffman) was hustled out of post #7 and received the first call.

Stud Muffin T (Trevor Smith) closed off the pocket from Last Rail Standing (Chris Page), who was forced to advance on the outside at the quarter in a pedestrian :29.

Miller had Dame On off the rail and in a first over position at the half mile in :57.4 and three-quarters in 1:26.4.

The top three turned for home with Dame On in the middle, Last Rail Standing on his inside, Stud Muffin T on his outside. They hit the line together in 1:57.1.

The photo finish could not separate Dame On and Stud Muffin T. Last Rail Standing was a neck back in third.

Miller completed his ‘grand slam’ with a second-over neck win with Seaside Party in 1:55.3 in the 12th race.

Wednesday’s featured race was the $28,000 open handicapped trot.

Chris Page guided Oh Look Magic from the assigned outside post #7 to a gate-to-wire victory.

The five-year-old Lookslikeachpndale is conditioned by Ron Burke for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi.

Oh Look Magic has won four of his last five Dayton Raceway starts.

Racing continues on Thursday (Dec. 11) at Dayton Raceway with a 4:00 pm post time. Free past performance pages are available at hollywooddaytonraceway.com.
