Batavia, NY — Taking full advantage of class relief after dropping out of the Open, Biscoe led at every station en route to his sixth harness racing victory of the year in the featured $11,100 trot at Batavia Downs on Friday (Sept. 26) night.

Jim McNeight Jr. sent Biscoe to the front from post four and led by more than a length through quarters of :29, :59.1 and 1:28.4, while Famous Dan (Jim Morrill Jr.) tracked from the pocket. After rounding the last turn, Biscoe trotted away from Famous Dan as they made their way down the lane and held off a fast-closing Good Boy (Ray Fisher Jr.) as well to win by 1-½ lengths in 1:57.4.

BISCOE REPLAY

Biscoe ($4.18) is owned by his driver, McNeight, and trained by Jeff Martin.

There were also two $9,700 mid-level conditioned trots on the card.

The first was won by Said N Done AS (Drew Monti), who sat third for five-eighths of the mile before pulling first-over and engaging the leading Skyway Professor (Justin Huckabone) through the last turn, and then all the way to the wire before inching ahead by a nose to win in 2:00.2.

It was the second straight win at Batavia for Said N Done AS ($14.58) who is owned by Friendship Stables and trained by Shawn McDOnough.

Then in the second, What’s The Point (Dave McNeight III) was the best of four leavers and got to the point to call the shots. After cutting quarters of :28.2, :59.2 and 1:28.4, What’s The Point entered the lane and held off a late rush from Brookview Darius (Kyle Swift) to win in 1:58.1.

It was the fifth win of the year for What’s The Point ($5.24) and owners Jack and Maria Rice. Maria Rice also trains the winner.

Jim Morrill Jr. continued his torrid pace at The Downs this week, winning five more races on Friday. Morrill won with Mucho Macho (1:57.3, $9.86), Sportsmanship (1:54.3, $9.82), Four Finger Floyd (1:55.3, $3.26), HP Running Mass (1:59.4, $4.00) and Sportskeeper (1:56.2, $3.10). Morrill also had one second and four thirds from his 11 total starts to post a stellar .626 UDR for the evening. In the last four cards of racing since last Friday, Morrill has won 20 races at Batavia Downs.

Live racing resumes at Batavia Downs on Saturday (Sept. 27) with post time at 6:00 p.m. and there will be a carryover of $2,947 in the Jackpot Super Hi-5 pentafecta in the 13th race.

Free full card past performance programs for every live card of racing at Batavia can always be downloaded at The Downs’ website (bataviadownsgaming.com) under the “Live Racing” tab. Then you can watch all the races live as they happen for free on the Batavia Downs YouTube page.
