Penzance Hanover made it two in a row and won the $27,500 Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs on Thursday night.
Rose Run Uriah and Penzance Hanover both left eagerly from the gate. .Penzance Hanover yielded the lead to Rose Run Uriah past the quarter. Rose Run Uriah then cut fractions of :26.2,Ā :53.4 (:27.2) and 1:22.1 (:28.2).
Island of the Sea moved 1st over past the half. Red Power followed that cover 2nd up. However, their bids stalled nearing the three quarters.
Penzance Hanover and driver Art Stafford Jr, left the pocket at the top of the stretch but had to hold off a furious charge by Movinā On Up and driver Tim Tetrick late in the mile. Penzance Hanover, the betting favorite, prevailed and won by a length in 1:50.4. He paid $4.80 for the win.

Penzance Hanover (Somebeachsomewhere) is owned and trained by Arthur C. Stafford, Jr. Movinā On Up finished 2nd for trainer Chuck Crissman Jr. Rose Run Uriah, who cut the race fractions, finished 3rd for trainer A. Bobby Glassmeyer. Tony Morgan drove.
Tim Tetrick had 4 driving wins on the betting card. Trainer Chuck Crissman Jr. had 3 training wins.
