Blue Ivy tough in Meadows top pace

WASHINGTON, PA, Aug. 2, 2023  — Blue Ivy (Captaintreacherous-Ali Blue) confidently pocketed Lydeo at the quarter, then held off her Lightning Lane challenge to capture Wednesday’s (Aug. 2) harness racing feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,500 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.

Once on top, Blue Ivy easily deflected the first-over bid of Crème Delight but still had to deal with Lydeo. The 7-year-old dug in for Aaron Merriman, scoring by 1/2 length in 1:51.1. Crème Delight finished third.

Bill Bercury trains Blue Ivy, who now boasts a career bankroll of $811,193, for Renee Bercury.

Merriman collected four wins on the 12-race card while Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. enjoyed a three-bagger.
