On a day in which we honor our military veterans, Navy Blue (Anders Bluestone) stormed home to win the Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night.

Duly Resolved was sent in action and was parked three wide into the 1st turn by Victor Laszlo who accepted the pocket trip. The 3/2 betting favorite Speed Away also left for early race position but settled along the pylons in 4th.
Duly Resolved, last week’s winner in this event, sped past the opening beam in 27.1 and continued on a comfortable journey reaching the half in 56.2 a 29.1 quarter.
Moving into the backstretch and against chilly weather conditions, Duly Resolved continued on the point.
Speed Away amped up the pressure trotting 1st over. Navy Blue followed on a helmet 2nd over.and Dyladmar countered 3rd over up the backstretch.
Duly Resolved continued in front reaching the three quarters in 1:25.1 ( 28.4) but was under siege. At the top of the stretch Speed Away was able to wear down the pacesetter from his 1st over surge.
Navy Blue circled three wide and charged home in deep stretch to win in 1:55.2 by a half length. He paid $ 31.60 for the win.

Navy Blue ( Anders) is owned by Austin Clarence Stafford of Felton, Delaware and F. Wyatt Starkey from Sudlersville, Maryland. Austin’s mom Stacey Johnson- Stafford trained and his dad Art Stafford Jr.drove.
All Wrapped Up closed to finish 2nd and Dully Resolved picked up the show spot.
There is a pick 5 carry over worth $2,192 to tomorrow night’s ( Wednesday) betting card.
Wednesday’s race feature is the Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace.
On Thursday there are 4 Divisions of the Matron Stakes for three year olds at Bally’s Dover. The Matron Stake races will take place on races 6,8,10, and 12.
