Lexington, KY — On Tuesday (Aug. 30) The Red Mile will host one $80,000 third round leg of the Kentucky Championship series, one $30,000 third round leg of the Kentucky Commonwealth series and two $15,000 third round legs of the Golden Rod series for sophomore filly harness racing pacers. Boudoir Hanover (Captaintreacherous-Bedroomconfessions) seeks her second consecutive victory and fourth on the season as she pursues a Championship title in the Bluegrass.
On Aug. 21 Boudoir Hanover returned to the winnerās circle for the first time since she captured the $115,000 Nadia Lobell at Harrahās Hoosier Park on July 1 in second round sire stakes action at Red Mile. The regally bred filly and pilot Todd McCarthy scored in 1:50.3 as the heavy favorite over Msdinosis Bluegrass (Dexter Dunn) and stablemate Dont Fence Me In (Andrew McCarthy).
The filly will leave from post position two in this event with McCarthy in the bike and is 7-5 on the morning line in the field of five.
Boudoir Hanover was a deserving choice by the public in her last appearance over the red clay. Trained by Tony Alagna, the filly has kept top company since her career debut on July 10, 2021 and has fared well in Lexington. She won a third-round leg of this series last year and scored in a $144,000 division of the Bluegrass Stake a little more than a month later.
Boudoir Hanover completed her freshman campaign with a fourth-place finish in the $600,000 Breeders Crown final behind Dan Patch Award winner Niki Hill.
She commenced her 3-year-old campaign with a win in Pennsylvania Sire Stakes company at Harrahās Philadelphia and then traveled to Canada where she was fifth in the $308,779 Fan Hanover final at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
When Boudoir Hanover returned to the U.S., she collected her second victory of the year in the Nadia Lobell prior to finishing second in the $150,000 Mistletoe Shalee, second in a $52,400 division of the Tompkins-Geer Stake and fifth in the $92,300 Shady Daisy.
Owned by Riverview Racing, Alagna Racing, Caviart Farms, D. Plouffe and S. Head, Boudoir Hanover has banked $423,001 and has a record of 19-5-5-2. She was bred by Riverview Racing and Visionary Breeders and was purchased at the 2020 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale for $200,000.
The Red Mile will also offer a $10,000 guaranteed Pick-4 (races six through nine) in conjunction with the U.S. Trotting Associationās Strategic Wagering program.
