Brilliant Beauty (JK Endofanera, Tyler Miller) held on to capture the harness racing $13,000 Open 1-2 Handicap Fillies & Mare Pace at Tioga Downs on Saturday (May 27).
Pearl Harbour N (Mike Merton) grabbed the early lead but Brilliant Beauty ($8.60) forged on to take over just before hitting the quarter first in :27.2.Ā She used a :29.4 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.1.Ā Lets Ryde Girl was first to make a move going first-up down the backstretch.Ā Brilliant Beauty repelled the challenge and led to three-quarters in 1:25.0
As they reached the stretch Pearl Harbour N popped the pocket and came all out after the lead.Ā Brilliant Beauty dug in as Pearl Harbour N kept coming.Ā Brilliant Beauty held on to win by a nose in 1:54.2.
Pearl Harbour N had to settle for second.Ā April Ava (Aaron Byron) was third.
