It has been reported from Sweden that Broadway Hall (Conway Hall) 2,1:56.4 ($436,790), the undefeated harness racing two-year-old Dan Patch winner in 2002, has been euthanized due to cataracts. He was age 23 and had been living in Finland at the time.
Unbeaten in his nine starts at age 2, Broadway Hall was from the A Go Go Lauxmont stakes winning mare, B Cor Tamgo.
As a two-year-old, Broadway Hall won the Breeders Crown Final and his elim at Woodbine, The Kentucky Sire Stakes Final, the Lexington Breeders Classic, Bluegrass Stake, Reynolds Memorial and the Arden Downs Stake.
He was the sire of two-million-dollar winners in 2011 Hambletonian winner Broad Bahn 2, 1:55.1f; 3.1:53 ($1,547,988), he was the 2011 Dan Patch 3YO Colt Trotter of the Year and Action Broadway 2,1:56f; 3,1:52.4; 4,1:52.3 ($1,102,073, she was the 2011 Dan Patch Older Trotting Mare of the Year.
In the United States, Broadway Hall sired 551 starters, 236 in 2:00, 70 in 1:55, with earnings of $37,275,597. At one point in his stallion career, he was the sire of five world record holders.
Broadway Hall was purchased in 2014 by Hans NelĆ©n (Global Farm), John Bootsman (Boko Stables), Mats Gabrielsson (Oxalis) and the couple Siv and Nils Otto Bergslien (The breeders of āThaiā-horses) where were the Scandinavian quartet behind the deal, purchasing the stallion from Fashion Farms LLC.
Broadway Hall sired numerous race winners in Sweden and Europe.
