WASHINGTON, PA, Feb. 3, 2023 — Bronx Seelster (Big Jim-Baccarat) launched and sustained an impressive first-over move that carried him to a narrow harness racing victory in Friday’s (Feb. 3) $21,200 Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Bronx Seelster was fifth by 6 lengths when Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. sent him after the race leader and wagering favorite, Sandbetweenmytoes. It took nearly every inch of the stretch, but Bronx Seeleter finally poked his head in front to defeat Sandbetweenmytoes in 1:52.1. Surreal Ideal finished third in the Lightning Lane.
BRONX SEELSTER REPLAY
Ron Burke trains Bronx Seelster, a 7-year-old stallion who pushed his career bankroll to $740,579, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Phillip Collura. He paid $8.40 to win.
Wrenn notched four wins on the 13-race card, giving him 11 for the three-day racing week, while Burke fashioned a triple.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday, first post 12:45 PM.
