Dayton, OH – Off of a perfect second over trip it was Brookview Bullet (Always A Virgin) finding his way to the winner’s circle in the $25,000 Open Pace at Dayton Raceway on Thursday, November 9.
A winner off of a pocket ride in last week’s feature event, 8-1 Brookview Bullet left the car at odds of 8-1 from Post 3 with harness racing driver Trevor Smith at the controls. Heavy favorite Sectionline Bigry and driver Tyler Smith left from Post 6 but it was Stars Align and driver Dan Noble to get the first call to front the field through fractions of 26.2, 54.4 to the half.
Sectionline Bigry made a first over bid with Brookview Bullet to follow his cover and cleared to three-quarters in 1:21.4. Brookview Bullet, now left uncovered, would then duel to the finish where he would draw away by a length and three-quarters in 1:50. Sectionline Bigry was second, Captain Romance was third.
Brookview Bullet is trained by Henry Graber Jr for owner Eleven Star Stable, the now 19-time winner boasts over $374,000 in career earnings. Brookview Bullet paid $19.00 to win.
