Bullvillespandemic wins the Monticello feature battle

Monticello, NY— The 7-5 co-favorites Bullvillespandemic (Bullville Powerful) and Dunes Beach battled for the harness racing victory in the $5,100 feature pace on Thursday (Aug. 10) at Monticello Raceway, with Bullvillespandemic and driver Jimmy Taggart, Jr. garnishing the victory.

Dunes Beach left the gate first in the middle of the track with Bullvillespandemic rushing up on the outside in second. Three lengths back, Hey Junior moved in third from the outside.

Bruce Aldrich was maintaining that early lead by a length with Dunes Beach in the first quarter in :29:4. Bullvillespandemic was in the pocket spot second and Hey Junior switching to the outside third at the half mile :59:3.

Moving around the final turn, Dunes Beach was leading the way. Pocket trip Bullvillespandemic was following closely in second.

At the top of the stretch, Taggart popped Bullvillespandemic on the outside, taking the lead and crossing the finish line first in 1:58 by one length. Dunes Beach took second and Just Call Me Art came in third.

Bullvillespandemic is owned by Crevani Farms from New York and trained by Stephen Crevani. He paid $4.90 to win.
