Byron wins five at Vernon

Driver Aaron Byron gets five harness racing wins including the $8,500 featured Fillies & Mares Open Pace with PL Princess C (Thinking Out Loud) at Vernon Downs on Friday (October 18).

Won Surreal Deal (Chris Long) was first to the quarter in :26.2.  She used a :29.2 second quarter to be first to the half in :55.3.  She cruised to three-quarters in 1:24.1.

As they reached the stretch second place finisher Abby Rose (Tom Merton) slipped through on the inside and took the lead.  PL Princess C ($9.00) came flying three-wide like she was shot out of a cannon and blew right on by to win in 1:52.4.  Unusual Clarity (Ron Harp) finished third.

PL Princess C is a 5-year-old mare by Thinking Out Loud.  Paul Long trains for owners Charlene and Jeff Long.  It was her ninth win this season.  She now has 19 career victories.

Byron got his other wins with Miley Rose, Spittin Chicklets, St Lads Dark Angel, and Primo Padre.

Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (October 19) starting at 6:05 p.m.

Starting on Friday (October 25) through the rest of the season post time at Vernon Downs will be at 3:05 p.m.
