Campbell and Switzer hit grand slams at Bass Park

Bangor, Maine …. Drew Campbell and Kevin Switzer, Jr both hit it out of historic Bass Park on Saturday (September 7) with each teamster displaying plenty of September sizzle while scoring four harness racing wins apiece at Bangor Raceway.

Campbell’s grand slam  day commenced with a 9-1/2 length romp in a $19,172  non-wagering spilt of Maine Sire Stakes action when Chipper Dale (2:00.1-NB) took a new lifetime mark while scoring his sixth stakes win of the season.

Campbell also caroused through the pari-mutuel portion of the program boasting wins behind Dark As Night (Stay Hungry) (1:57.4-$7.20), who ground his way through a second-over journey to overcame the dreaded  8-hole starting spot; Bo Master (Sportsmaster) (1:56.4-$4.40), who blasted out of the same post eight to glide gate-to-wire to his second consecutive score since dropping down to the $4000 optional claiming ranks; and Ranaldi (Western Maverick)(1:54.3-$$9.60), who posted a seasonal mark while marching through the fastest mile of the day at Bangor.

Switzer’s skein of winners included scores with Little Power (Capitol Power) (1:56.3-$2.20), who paid dimes to dollars while marching gate-to-wire through a scorching 56.4 back-half to secure his second win in three starts since being claimed by Russell Lanpher, Jr; Lookintomyeyes (Hypnotic Blue Chip) (1:58.1-$20.20), whose mutual win price matched his name to prove his perfect vision; Hula’s Boy (American Ideal) (1:57-$5.00), who swiveled his hips while splitting foes in deep-stretch to claim a seasonal best clocking; and Reys N A Ruckus (1:56.4-$8.20), who gamely raced first-over to claim his 34th career score.

To the plate at Bangor Raceway on Sunday (September 8) with post time scheduled bright and early at 11:00 A. M. (EDT). The truncated September meet will conclude at Bangor on Wednesday (September 11) with a 3:00 P.M. starting time.
