It is with a heavy heart that Hanover Shoe Farms announces Cantab Hall was humanely euthanized this morning due to arthritic disabilities. He was 22 and was elected to the Living Hall of Fame in Goshen, NY in 2018.
During his racing career Cantab earned honors as 2003 Dan Patch Two-Year-Old Trotting Colt of the Year earning $461,337 by winning 10 races in 10 starts including the Breeders Crown.

As a three-year-old he earned $980,966 finishing in the top three 11 times in 13 starts, with his lifetime record of 1:54 at The Meadowlands winning his division of the Dickerson and Stanley Dancer. He also was victorious in the $250,000 American National and Canadian Trot elimination, finishing second in the final.

Cantab Hall was a tough horse that commanded respect on the track and in the breeding shed. He was enjoying his last years in retirement at Hanover Shoe Farms in his paddock next to fellow retiree Andover Hall. He will be missed by those that worked with him.
