With a big first-over brush from sixth place to second in the backstretch, Captivate Hanover (Bettor’s Delight) was able to keep the momentum going in winning the $36,000 Open-Handicap Pace Monday (May 22) at Yonkers Raceway.

At the start of the 8th race harness racing feature, driver Austin Siegelman sent Leonidas A to the front from post seven and made it easily to the lead with race favorite Priceless Beach (Matt Kakaley) getting the two-hole trip. They went by the opening quarter mile in :28.
They just about raced single file to the half mile in :57 with the exception of 6-1 Captivate Hanover and driver Daniel Dube, who started up first-over from 6th place. And with a big brush of speed, Captivate Hanover was able to pull up alongside Leonidas A by the three-quarters in 1:24.2.
Still parked out first-over around the final turn, Captivate Hanover would not give in while Leonidas A was not giving up the lead. Those two raced neck and neck to the wire with Captivate Hanover getting up by a head in 1:52.4. Splash Brother (Scott Zeron) also closed well to be in the photo, finishing third by only a neck.
CAPTIVATE HANOVER REPLAY
It was the second straight win and sixth of the year for Captivate Hanover. The six-year-old gelding is owned and trained by Gilbert Garcia-Herrera and paid $14.40 to win.
