After once again wiring the field in the $32,000 Open Pace at Miami Valley Raceway today (Jan. 18), Carbine (Somebeachsomewhere) now owns two of the five fastest harness racing miles in North America this season.
Last week Carbine and driver Trace Tetrick ended in a dead heat for win finish with Rockin Speed (Jeremy Smith) in 1:49.4. This week it was nearly dĆ©jĆ vu as Carbine led from start to finish in another photo finish, the time, 1:49.4.
The 8th race feature saw Tetrick leave with the race favorite Carbine from post three and take command with Later Dudes (Chris Page) sitting the two-hole trip.
Carbine would cut fractions of :27.2, :55.1 and 1:22.2. Nashing Hill (Brett Miller) came first-over in the backstretch with Stars Align A (Trevor Smith) following second-over.
As they raced down the stretch, Carbine barely held off Later Dudes to win by a head with Nashing Hill a game third.
