Carolsideal (Western Ideal) scored an impressive victory in Friday's $18,000 feature at the harness racing meeting at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.
The Rene Allard-trained six year old came from the back of the pack and surged past her rivals to record her first win in the local Fillies and Mares Open.
Billy Dobson sat patiently in sixth with the public's even money favorite before unleashing her in the final half.
Carolsideal served as cover for invader Sell A Bit N (Dan Cappello Jr) who was making her local debut.
The outer flow thrived and Carolsideal struck the lead in mid-stretch before holding off the late surge by Sell A Bit N to prevail in 1:53.1.
While it was her first local score, it was victory number ten for Carolsideal in sixteen seasonal tries.
Sell A Bit N had to settle for second despite making a monster move in the back half while Spreester (Wally Hennessey) earned the show spot in the Open for distaffers.
Live racing continues on Saturday night at Saratoga with a 7:05pm first post.
