Northfield, OH – Wednesday (August 30) night proved tricky for harness racing gamblers at MGM Northfield Park, creating a pair of wagering opportunities to highlight Saturday (September 2) night’s program.
The Super Hi-5 featured in races one and thirteen every night went uncaptured during the latter part of the program as Ballard Mr Coin (Mister Big, Jason Thompson), won in the gate to wire fashion at 28/1 over Out Wit (Elliott Deaton) at 68/1, and Ardeen (Kurt Sugg) at 32/1. Race favorite Oren (Aaron Merriman) made a mid-race move and tried to rally but had to settle for fourth. The carryover of $10,664 will move to Saturday’s first race.
BALLARD MR COIN REPLAY
Saturday’s card features a stellar $22,000 Filly and Mare Open featuring some of the top filly and mare pacers in Northeast Ohio.
The Pick-6 (Race 8) also went unsolved on Wednesday evening and sports a carryover of $719. Free past performances for Saturday’s Super Hi-5 (R1) extravaganza will be available at handicapping.ustrotting.com.
Live racing resumes on Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. MGM Northfield Park currently races on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday. For more information on live racing and promotions, visit www.northfieldpark.com.
