HAMBURG, N.Y. — Carrythetorchman (American Ideal) continued to ‘torch’ the harness racing field in Buffalo Raceway’s $12,000 pace on Saturday afternoon (March 15) as he claimed his third straight victory with a solid two length score over Admiral Hanover in a season’s best 1:57.0 over the good track.

For the third straight week, Carrythetorchman ($6.60) stepped up in class with no one able to extinguish his burning flame.
Starting from the five post, Carrythetorchman (Dan Yetman) was content in watching Admiral Hanover (Drew Monti) carve through the opening half mile in :59.0. But things sure did change quickly as Carrythetorchman was first over and before reaching the midway point down the backstretch, found himself enjoying a length advantage.
With a 1:28.0 clocking in the books, Carrythetorchman was solid down the stretch and was able to easily hold back Admiral Hanover while Sporty Deal (Joseph Chindano Jr.) finished in third.
Co-owned by trainer Marc Shuttleworth and Martin Dugan, Carrythetorchman (American Ideal-Kattamon) has earned $16,300 in his six tries on the season and $303,471 in his career.
In the $12,000 main event for the trotters, Crazy Fool ($3.40) led every step of the way and held back the late surge of Double Class to collect the half length victory in 1:58.0.
Beginning from the inside, Crazy Fool (Kyle Cummings) was able to protect pylon position and set fractions of :28.4, :59.1 and 1:26.3. Double Class (David McNeight III) continued to slowly cut into the lead with a quarter mile to go but ran out of real estate and had to settle for the second place check. Grinder (Chindano Jr.) managed to grab the show spot.
Co-owned by driver Cummings and Matthew Miller, the 5-year-old gelded Crazy Fool (Crazy Wow-Winkys Gal) is trained by Tammy Cummings. For the campaign, Crazy Fool had now won three times in seven starts, producing $19,200 in earnings in 2025 and $112,196 lifetime.
On the day, Chindano Jr. took home four driving victories with Kyle Swift and Monti adding a pair each. Candace Brandstatter-Hall conditioned a pair of winners.
Racing will resume on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with a 12-race card scheduled. There’s a $12,500 guaranteed pool in the Pick 5 which begins in the second race.
