19-yr old WIlliam Carter had a week that many dream of as harness racing driver.
In two nights at Rosecroft, Carter won ten times, 20 drives and returned an incredible 335% return on investment to the gambling public.
On Tuesday (Feb. 20), he scored four times and on Thursday (Feb. 22), Carter got his picture taken six times in the winners circle.
Shim (American Ideal), an eight-year-old, watched in the pocket as pace setter Mach Le More A (Tyler Miller) fought off a stubborn favorite in Business Director who came first up to challenge the leader through fractions of :26, :55, 123.1.
Carter guided Shim past the game leader, to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:52.3 to win the $10,000 Open II, paying $22 to win. Basil Sapienza conditions the winner, and he teamed up with Carter for a win with Try Line as well.

Carter won the daily double with Mike Chaney’s Docdor Mickey (Always B Miki) for trainer Johnny Crites, paying $48.80 and then with his own, Freak On A Leash (World Of Rocknroll), returning $8.80.
Miller kept the Crites momentum going on this night of upsets as Badlands Thriller (Badlands Hanover) stole the third race for breeder-owner Audrey Callahan at 16-1, powering by the pace setting Crosswinds Bobby B (Johnathan Ahle).
Trae Porter kept the upset theme going as the meet’s leading driver won for the 26th time, guiding Vel Bitter Chip (Hypnotic Blue Chip) home for Mike Patterson at 16-1!
Carter restored order for the favorites as Racer Pacer (Racing Hill) held off Swift Operator who raced great for Eric Davis from post 8, winning in 1:53.4, giving Crites his third win in five races to start the card.
Frank Milby, a multi-time Rosecroft Dash Champion, shook off an 0-61 start and picked up the first of his three wins on the night as Twist Knot (Betting Line), sprinted up the passing lane for owners Jane Ramsey and David Amos and trainer Leigh Louthan. He returned $21 to his backers.
Milby came right back in Race 7 and took Captain Map (Captaintreacherous) coast to coast as he held off the favored Fast Chat (Porter) in 1:53.4 for trainer Ron DIxon, paying $9.20.
Davis posted a rare win for the chalk players as Katana (A Rocknroll Dance) paid $3 in winning easy for trainer Alex Goldin.
Porter picked up a double, winning with the ultra-talented, but still learning four-year-old, Sweetheart Deal (Downbytheseaside) paying $4.80. He won for the ninth time in 42 starts for Gary Crescenze and trainer Amanda Blackford.
Carter, who now has 20 wins on the meet second to Porter, won his sixth and final race with Velocity Gator (Always A Virgin), giving Crites four wins on the night, returning, $29.20.
Jared Moyer and HP LIs Shadow (Shadow Play) have been motoring the last three weeks for trainer Megan Roberts. After exiting, the winners of six not nine conditions with wins the last two weeks, Moyer took the $12,000 Open I feature closing in dramatic fashion from seventh in the final quarter to nail an upset minded Walden Woods (Hugh O’Neil).
The win paid $$18.80, and he has won three straight and been on the board in his last four.
Milby completed his hat trick with a late rally from far back with Tom’s Twilight (Sweet Lou) who blasted off the banked turn at the top of the stretch, closing in :27.4, to win in 1:51.4.
Tuesday night’s card will have a Jackpot Hi-5 carryover of $9,561.75 for Race Ten. Post time is 7:15 eastern time.
