Charlie May (McArdle) will be back at the Darke County Fair in Greenville, Ohio on Wednesday night (August 21) to defend his Gene Riegle Memorial harness racing title.
Driver Dan Noble will send Charlie May out of post eight in the $35,000 event.
The six-year-old gelding is a 27-time winner of more than $2.1 million. He comes into the 2024 edition of the Riegle off a fifth-place finish in Saturdayās (August 17) $100,000 #senitin Invitational at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
The fan favorite established a new track mark of 1:50 in last yearās Riegle.
Owner Don Tiger, in conjunction with Conrad photos, will be distributing a hundred win photos from Charlie Mayās memorable 2023 win.
The Gene Riegle Memorial undercard will feature the $20,000 Arnie Almahurst Trot, ten divisions of the Dr. H. M. Parshall Memorials for two and three-year-olds, a leg of the Spring Haven Farm Ladies Drivers Series, a leg of the Terry Holton Youth Driverās Series and three divisions of the Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association.
To celebrate their big night, the Darke County Fairboard will be handing out their collectorsā Gene Riegle Memorial glass, while supplies last.
The 16-race card will kick off at 7:00 pm.
