Northfield, Ohio — Harness racing amateur driver Christina Johnson won the $8,000 Great Lakes Amateur
Drivers Association (GLADA) Trot tonight (Aug. 28) at Northfield Park with Go Go George (Neely Dunn) in 1:58 marking the talented lady driver’s sixth win this season in 19 starts. She also has four seconds and four thirds for a whopping seasonal .525 UDR.
Her victory tonight came with patience when she settled in the two-hole behind Dynamic Edge (Don Sherman) and followed him through fractions of :27.3 and :58.4 before Eddie Miller and Swan On A Mission challenged for the lead.
At the three quarters in 1:28.2 Dynamic Edge still had the lead, albeit by just a neck. But Ms Johnson sat chilly and waited until the passing lane and then sent Go Go George to challenge for command and in the deep stretch he was the strong horse.
At the wire Go Go George was a neck winner over Swan On A Mission as the timer flashed 1:58. So Wishful (Larry Ferrari) got up for the show dough as Dynamic Edge faded and finished fourth.
