Chucky Hanover (He’s Watching, Simon Allard) and Mach Doro A (Mach Three, Jim Pantaleano) won their respective $12,000 harness racing feature paces at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday (Dec. 3).
Sharky Bear (Geo. Napolitano Jr) took the early lead in the first feature pace of the evening, followed by Crack A Smile (Ridge Warren) in second. As they passed the quarter mile in :27.3 and the half mile in :56.2, Sharky Bear held on to the lead, Crack A Smile held his position in second, and Pretty Ricki (Marcus Miller) was racing in third.
As they approached the three quarter mile in 1:24.4, Sharky Bear was still in the lead, with Major Makover (Tim Tetrick) moving into second from the outside. As they turned for home, Chucky Hanover rushed up from the outside and Crack A Smile was challenging the leader from the inside. Chucky Hanover crossed the wire first in 1:54.1. Pretty Ricki stole second and Crack A Smile finished in third.
Chucky Hanover is a 4-year-old gelding trained by Jeff Cullipher and owned by Pollack Racing LLC. He paid $2.80 to win.
CHUCKY HANOVER REPLAY
In the second feature pace, the 6-5 favorite Mach Doro A took the early lead from the outside. Lyons Johnnyjnr (Tim Tetrick) followed in second. As they approached the first quarter mile in :27.1, Mach Doro A had the lead by a length.
They passed the half mile in :57.2, with Mach Doro A in first, Lyons Johnnyjnr racing in second, and Tuxedo Bay (Simon Allard) following in third.
As they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:25.3, Mach Doro A had the lead by two lengths over Lyons Johnnyjnr. Stick With Cramer (Anthony Napolitano) was racing in third. Mach Doro A crossed the wire in 1:53.3, four lengths ahead of Tuxedo Bay. Beachchip Hanover (David Miller) finished in third.
MACH DORO A REPLAY
Mach Doro A is a 12-year-old gelding trained by Darren Taneyhill and owned by Mark Jakubik. He paid $4.40 to win.
Darren Taneyhill and Symon Spicer had training doubles. Simon Allard and Tim Tetrick had driving doubles. Jim Pantaleano had a driving triple and Jeff Cullipher had a training triple.
