Monticello, NY–After traveling along in fourth position, Bob Ciavardini moved PC Foreign Affair (Cornaro Dasolo) three-deep at the three quarters and at the head of the lane they rallied to the lead and went on to a 1/12-length victory in 1:59.2 in the $7,500 NAADA trot today (Jul. 20) at Monticello Raceway. Sent off at odds of over 6-1 the 9-year-old gelding paid $14.20 for the win.
Ciavardini was content to get away fourth as Dave Yarock and Mr Ridgetaker zipped to the lead from the six hole as the timer flashed :29.0. Once on top Yarock’s trotter passed the halfway point in :59.4 and they got first call at the three quarters in 1:29.2, but trouble was lurking when the trailers moved up. Fun Time Charlie (Scott Keppler) was head to head with Mr Ridgetaker as they turned for home but PC Foreign Affair on the far outside was the strong horse and in the deep stretch Ciavardini’s trotter rallied to the lead and went on to a 1-1/2 length triumph in 1:59;2. Fun Time Charlie finished second and Racintowardadream garnered the show dough for Paul Minore.
