Clarification on Detention Times for NYSS Finals

Nichols, NY – Tioga Downs is clarifying the Detention schedule for those harness racing horses in the New York Sires Stakes (NYSS) “Day of Champions” on Saturday afternoon.

A mass text was sent today (Thursday) at 12:52PM erroneously advising that

“All NYSS Detention horses MUST be on the grounds by 1PM Friday. No Exceptions”

That text is INCORRECT.

Beginning with race 1, the times will be staggered by 20 minutes, 24 hours prior to the scheduled post time for each race as originally listed on the entries page of ustrotting.com.

Below are the correct report times for NYSS Championship detention

All times are Friday afternoon

Race 1                    1:00PM Friday

Race 2                    1:20PM Friday

Race 3                    1:40PM Friday

Race 4                    2:00PM Friday

Race 5                    2:20PM Friday

Race 6                    2:40PM Friday

Race 7                    3:00PM Friday

Race 8                    3:20PM Friday

Completed NYSGC Veterinary Record Forms (VR1a), identifying any treatments administered in the previous 48 hours (September 8 & September 9), must be submitted to NYSGC officials at the time the horse is brought to the detention area on Friday, September 9, 2022. If no treatments were received, then the form must still be completed and submitted indicating “no treatment.” The Commission will post these records on its website.
