Crossfit Mouse puts on the afterburners

Crossfit Mouse was in winning harness racing form and took the $12,000 Open Trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (May14).

Meadowbranch Rickey (Wally Hennessey) went straight to the front.  Muskingum (Joe Chindano Jr) then took control and led to the quarter in :27.4.  She used a :29.4 second quarter and led to the half in :59.3.  Crossfit Mouse ($12.80) and driver Corey Braden made their move first-over as they headed for the final turn.  Muskingham held a short lead as she hit three-quarters first in 1:26.2.

Crossfit Mouse took the lead as they went around the final turn.  As they reached the stretch the major danger was Lightfootedlegend (Darryl Thiessen).  Crossfit Mouse put on the afterburners and cruised to the win in 1:55.2.   Lightfootedlegend had to settle for second.  Itsonlymoneyhoney (Mike Merton) was third best.

Crossfit Mouse is a 5-year-old gelding by Muscle Mass.  He is owned by Braden and trained by Stacey McLenaghan.  It was his fourth win this season.  He now owns 14 career victories.

CROSSFIT MOUSE REPLAY

Corey Braden, Mike Simons, and Mike Merton all had driving triples on the card.  Stacey McLenaghan, Gaston Lareau, and Frankie Bambrick earned training doubles on the night.

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (May 15) with a pastime of 1:00 p.m.
