Philadelphia, PA—Crystal Fashion (Cantab Hall) captured the harness racing victory in the $20,000 Open trot at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Friday (Sept. 22) in a photo finish.
Out of the gate, Bluebird Bishop (Johnathan Ahle) took the early lead between Crystal Fashion (Troy Beyer) and Pappardelle (Jack Pelling). Lexus Kody (Simon Allard) followed from the outside. Crystal Fashion stole the lead with Lexus Kody on the outside in second and Pappardelle in third as they passed the quarter mile in :27.2.
Lexus Kody passed Crystal Fashion to take the lead. Jl Cruze (Russell Foster) rushed up to challenge Pappardelle for third as they passed the half mile in :56.1.
Russell Foster and Jl Cruze started to make their way to the front to challenge Lexus Kody for the lead. Crystal Fashion followed in third as they passed the three-quarter mile mark in 1:24.3.
As they made their way around the final turn, Crystal Fashion rushed to take the lead from Lexus Kody from the inside. Pappardelle and Jl Cruze were following closely behind. In a photo finish, Crystal Fashion was pronounced the winner by a head in 1:24.3. Lexus Kody finished in second and Pappardelle came in third.
