Monticello, NY— The race favorite Daamericansky (American Ideal) claimed the harness racing victory in the $7,200 Open pace on Tuesday (Aug. 15) at Monticello Raceway.
As they left the gate, K J Unreal led from the inside between Special Graduate and Daamericansky, who rushed to challenge the lead in the first quarter of :27:4.
Justin Huckabone and Daamericansky were leading the way by three lengths over Special Graduate who was sitting a loose pocket trip. At the half mile in :57:1, Daamericansky was leading the way by two lengths as Special Graduate hurried to catch up.
Heading to the three quarters, Daamericansky was still in first, with pocket trip Special Graduate and outside was Foo Fighter N in 1:25:4.
Daamericansky crossed the wire first, Special Graduate followed in second, and K J Unreal in third in 1:54:3.
