Monticello, NY— Harness racing driver Justin Huckabone stole the show with Daamericansky (American Ideal) in the $7,200 Open pace at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 10).
Out of the gate, Chantepleure (Jim Devaux) took the early lead. From the outside, Daamericansky stole the lead. The 1-5 favorite Kj Hunter (Jim Taggart Jr) was racing in third as they passed the first quarter mile in :27.1.
Daamericansky had the lead by two lengths over Chantepleure. Kj Hunter moved to battle for second as they passed the half mile in :55.4.
Daamericansky was holding on to the lead as they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:24. Kj Hunter followed in second, with Some Deal Hanover (Bruce Aldrich Jr) racing in third.
Daamericansky crossed the wire first in 1:53, one quarter length ahead of Kj Hunter. Some Deal Hanover finished in third.

Daamericansky is an 8-year-old gelding owned by Melvin Fink and trained by Andrew Adamczyk. He paid $8.60 to win.
