Dan Patch Divisional Awards set for Sunday reveal

HARRISBURG PA — The winners of the Dan Patch Awards for the best in their twelve harness racing divisions (2YO, 3YO, and older; trot and pace; male and female) will be broadcast at approximately twelve noon this Sunday via the simulcast signal from Harrah’s Philadelphia, before that track’s 12:40 card starts that day. The winners are determined by the voting of the United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA), in conjunction with members of American Harness Racing Secretaries (AHRS).

This program will be co-hosted by Heather Vitale and Jenna Otten.

Press releases with the winners and more detail about their exploits during the 2025 racing season will be distributed to the sport’s major media outlets for publication immediately after the end of the videotape announcements.

THe video will also be made available on the U.S. Trotting Association’s YouTube channel (youtube.com/ustrotting) starting at 1 p.m. that day.

These horses will be honored at USHWA’s annual Dan Patch Awards Banquet, to be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando FL. The identities of the Pacer of the Year, Trotter of the Year, and Harness Horse of the Year will be announced for the first time at the Banquet; Sunday’s broadcast will identify the best in each division.
