Harrisburg, PA – Trotting filly Dance Of Victory, a daughter of Walner-She Rocks Kemp, was purchased for $250,000 by Ake Svanstedt on Tuesday to top the second yearling session of the 87th annual Standardbred Horse Sale at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Complex.

Dance Of Victory was followed on the best-selling list by three $200,000 purchases – pacing colt Augusta National to Brett Pelling, pacing colt Wouldyoulikeamint to Andrew Harris, and trotting colt Detonate to Brixton Medical Inc.

On Tuesday overall, 371 yearlings were sold for a total of $14.3 million, an average of $38,547. The second session last year saw 379 yearlings sold for $14.9 million, an average of $39,507.

Through two sessions this year, the sale has grossed nearly $30.6 million for 541 yearlings, an average of $56,551. Last year through two sessions, the total was $31.5 million for 529 yearlings, an average of $59,605.

Dance Of Victory is the second foal out of She Rocks Kemp. Her family includes Yannick G Kemp, who this year at age 3 won a Kentucky Sire Stakes final at Oak Grove and a division of the Garden State Trot in New Jersey. Dance Of Victory was bred by Jonas Schlabach and consigned by Concord Stud Farm. She is New Jersey eligible.

Augusta National is a son of Pebble Beach-Square Dancer out of the family of Dan Patch Award winner Allamerican Native and Breeders Crown champion Allamerican Nadia. He is a half-brother to Signal Caller, who won a division of the Bluegrass Stakes (G3) in 1:48.4 this year. The colt was bred by Frederick Hertrich III and consigned by All American Harnessbreds. He is Kentucky, Kentucky Stallion Bonus and Maryland Standardbred Race Fund eligible.

Wouldyoulikeamint is an Ohio eligible son of Downbytheseaside-Double A Mint. His family includes OK Heavenly, the dam of this year’s Max C. Hempt Memorial winner and Breeders Crown runner-up Dandy Ideal. He was bred by Farhi Standardbred Corp. and consigned by Icy Stable.

Detonate is a son of Greenshoe-Ilia. His siblings include stakes-winners In Range, Tight Lines, Long Tom and Go Boom. The family also includes Yankee Windsong, the dam of Hall of Famer Windsong’s Legacy. Detonate was bred by Windsong Stable and consigned by Concord Stud Farm.
