Darrell Wood of the Virginia Equine Alliance and the current PR Director of both Colonial Downs and Shenandoah Downs, visits Freddie, Trade and Bob on the Harness Racing Alumni Show.
Darrell shares with the guys the positive growth of racing in the state of Virginia and the possibility of a new harness track being built in the near future. Wood talks about how they have successfully marketed at Shenandoah Downs targeting younger people.
The Steeplechase races draw over 70,000, and the recordĀ handle of 74 million during this year’s 19-day Colonial Downs meet. Darrell also talks about some of the upcoming exciting events at Shenandoah. He also announced that the Virginia Governor and his wife will be presenting a check to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation (SRF) on October 7, 2022. All on this week’s broadcast.
