WASHINGTON, PA, Oct. 17, 2024  — Fresh off her second-place finish in the Buckeye Stallion Series championship, Tammie Sue (Long Tom) found a spot to her liking, rolling to a measured harness racing victory in Thursday’s co-feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, an $11,900 Filly & Mare Conditioned Trot.

Tammie Sue

Tammie Sue seized the lead for Hunter Myers and gave the cold shoulder to Stardust Volo when that rival launched a quarter-pole move from the pocket, forcing her to retreat to the cones. Tammie Sue remained unreachable in the lane, downing Stardust Volo by a neck in a career-best 1:56.3. Wildandfree finished third. It was one of three wins for Myers on the 13-race card.

TAMMIE SUE REPLAY

Scott Cox trains the 3-year-old, who boosted her lifetime bankroll to $127,620, for Wayne Mast and Callam Racing LLC.

In Thursday’s companion feature, an $11,900 Open Conditioned Trot, Mass Market (Muscle Mass-Pier Ho La Donato) quarter-poled to the top and jogged from there, prevailing in 1:56.2 for Dave Palone, trainer Johnny Yoder and owner Todd’s Auto. Sonic Boomer was 2-1/4 lengths back in second, with Fire N Lightning fourth-placed third. The 4-year-old gelding now boasts career earnings of $109,938.

Friday’s program at The Meadows features a $1,309.14 carryover in the Pick 5 (race 9). First post is 12:45 PM.
