Northfield, OH- Billy Davis Jr had an electric night on Tuesday (Jan. 16) as he swept both mini-series finals en route to an astonishing seven-win harness racing program.
Trainer Cory Kreiser grabbed five victories on the program himself, including a series final win with Up Helly AA in front stepping fashion. Davis Jr piloted all five of Kreiserās Tuesday trips to the winnerās circle.
Billy got off to a hot start by taking down the early double with Quik and Shady (Shadyshark Hanover) from post eight for trainer Scott Linville and an effortless performance from Kandy Sweet (Kreiser). Kreiser and Davis Jr went on to grab three straight mid card victories. Mcthirsty rallied from last at the top of the stretch, Parole Violation wire to wire in his barn debut and the win machine Winner Is Coming (Betting Line). He capped off his night by sweeping the $22,500 finals with the aforementioned Up Helly AA (Armbro Barrister) and a hard-fought victory with Pocket of Terror (Western Terror) to give Scott Linville his own double on the night.
Live racing resumes Wednesday evening with another pair of mini-seriesā finals for non-winners of $1,250 per start in 2023, one for each respective gait. The featured events of the evening carry a purse of $17,500 and go as races 12 and 13.
