Deal The Cards is perfect through five starts in his four-year-old year following another harness racing win at Yonkers Raceway on Tuesday.
Mark Macdonald opted for front-stepping tactics for his fourth consecutive drive aboard the son of Captaintreacherous, putting him on the front from post five in a :27.4 first quarter. After a two-wide effort to get there, Macdonald slowed the tempo to the half in :57.1. He kicked it up again as Gonnahaveonemore (Austin Siegelman) applied first-over pressure while moving to three-quarters in 1:25.2.
Deal The Cards put that foe away handily but faced renewed duress from Shiny Black Beamer (George Brennan) and Latissimus Hanover (Matt Kakaley). The challengers surged late, but Deal The Cards survived to the finish for a 1:53.3. victory.
Shiny Black Beamer lost the photo by a head. Latissimus Hanover was a neck behind the winner.
