Late Thursday (Dec. 1) the Defense for Nick Surick in his Federal case for using Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED’s) on racehorses, selling PED’s, hiding drugged harness racing horses from being tested for out of competition testing and other severe infractions, submitted their recommendation for sentencing.
The Defense requested that Surick receive a sentence of 12 months home confinement due to his cooperation throughout the investigations with the Federal prosecutors and mitigating circumstances in his past life.
The Defense’s summary to the judge details all of the infractions that Surick committed along with his early cooperation and numerous letters of support on his behalf.
The Prosecution will be submitting their recommendation for sentencing with the next week.
