Dover DE On a mild Veterans’ Day evening the Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund 2-year old pacing colts kicked off the first harness racing leg of the Dover Downs Series. Each division raced for a purse of $20,000.
Bebop On The Block (Gambler’s Dream-Seboomook Mao) scored for trainer Josh Green, and the driving sensation from “Down Under”, Dexter Dunn in 1:56. Owners are Debbie and Brendan Cook of Hartly and the breeder is Garnet W O’Marrow of Bridgeville. White Lands scored for the place and Aidan for the show.
Leonard’s Legacy (Tobago Cays-McLovely) was the second division winner in a swift 1:55.2, a new lifetime mark defeating the Harrington final winner, American Nitro. Undercovershamrock got up for the show. Leonard’s Legacy is owned and bred by Leonard Hubbard of Cambridge, MD and trained by Nick Callahan. Driven by the “Captain” Corey Callahan.
The DSBF continues tomorrow night with the 2 year old trotters in 3 early non-wagering races and the first half of the Daily Double. Regular Post Time is 4:30 pm.
