Delitfulcatherin N beats top mares again

For the second straight start, Delitfulcatherin N (Bettor’s Delight) was able to beat the best harness racing mares at Yonkers Raceway, this time in the $30,000 Fillies and Mares feature Friday, January 27.

The 7^th race feature first saw Uptown Hanover and driver Jason Bartlett get the early lead with race favorite Wahs Fire Bug N (Tyler Buter) dropping right into the two-hole as they raced to the first quarter in :28.1.

Uptown Girl continued to lead the way to the half mile in :57.4. It was after the half that driver Jordan Stratton pulled 6-1 Delitfulcatherin N first-over with Disaroono Hill (Brent Holland) second-over as they came after Uptown Girl to the three quarters in 1:25.4.

On the final turn, Delitfulcatherin N collared Uptown Hanover and as they started down the stretch was able to grind down the race favorite in deep stretch and hold off a quick closing Wahs Fire Bug N to win by a half a length with Uptown Hanover third by half a length. Time of the time was 1:54.1.

Unbeaten in two starts in 2023, Delitfulcatherin N is trained by Jeff Gillis for owner Mark Ford and paid $14.20 to win.
