Monticello, NY— Jim Devaux enjoyed a driving double at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 2). He won the first race with Jumpshot (E L Titan) and the $6,500 Open Fillies and Mares harness racing pace with Pleasure Seeker (Somebeachsomewhere).
Thinking Of A Card (Adam Moeykens) went for the early lead in the feature race, followed by the 5-2 favorite Pleasure Seeker on the far outside. Meadowbrook Jenny (Gregory Merton) was racing in third as they made their way around the first turn. At the first quarter mile in :28.2, Pleasure Seeker led the way, with Abuelita Hanover (Michael Merton) in second and Jeannies Terror (Mcgwire Sowers) on the inside in third.
As they passed the half mile in :58.2, Pleasure Seeker was first, Jeannies Terror followed in second, and Abuelita Hanover was racing in third. Coming down the backstretch, Pleasure Seeker had the lead by a length, with pocket trip Jeannies Terror racing in second. They reached the three-quarter mile in 1:28.3.
Pleasure Seeker crossed the wire first in 1:57.2, two lengths in front of Jeannies Terror. Abuelita Hanover finished third.

Pleasure Seeker is a 6-year-old mare owned by Thomas Milici and trained by Al Annunziata. She paid $7.10 to win.
